How do I set up Family Sharing?
Set up Family Sharing Use these steps to set up Family Sharing. You can start a new family group and invite people to join, or you can join someone else's family group. Family Sharing makes it easy for up to six family members to share App Store purchases and Apple subscriptions, including an iCloud storage plan, and more—all without sharing an Apple ID. It includes the ability to set up an Apple ID for kids, set permissions remotely with Screen Time, and approve spending and downloads from a parent's device. Your family can also share a photo album, a family calendar, and even help locate each other's missing devices. Get started You can be a part of only one family at a time. Here's what you need to set up Family Sharing: An Apple ID signed in to iCloud iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 8 or later, or Mac with OS X Yosemite or later If you need to, you can create an Apple ID for your child, then add them to your family group. Start a family group One adult in the family—the family organizer—can set up Family Sharing for the group from their iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac. If you turn on purchase sharing, you'll be asked to confirm that you agree to pay for purchases initiated by the family members you invite and that you have a valid payment method on file. Valid payment methods for setting up Family Sharing include credit cards and debit cards.* On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Go to Settings > [your name]. If you're using iOS 10.2 or earlier, go to Settings > iCloud. Tap Set Up Family Sharing, then tap Get Started. Follow the onscreen instructions to set up your family and invite your family members. If you’re using iOS 11 or later, choose the first feature you’d like to share with your family. Then follow the instructions to invite your family members using iMessage. On your Mac: Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Family Sharing. If you're using macOS Mojave or earlier, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click iCloud. Confirm the Apple ID that you want to use for Family Sharing, and make sure that Share My Purchases is selected. Follow the onscreen instructions. Invite people to join your family As long as you both use iOS 8 and later or OS X Yosemite and later, you can add anyone who has an Apple ID to your family. If you have children, use these steps to create their Apple ID and add them to your group. Use the steps below to add someone who already has an Apple ID. On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Go to Settings > [your name] > Family Sharing. If you're using iOS 10.2 or earlier, go to Settings > iCloud > Family. Tap Add Family Member. Enter your family member's name or email address and follow the onscreen instructions. If you’re using iOS 11 or later, choose whether you’d like to send an invitation via Messages or to invite them in person. Then follow the onscreen instructions. On your Mac: If you're using macOS Catalina: Choose Apple menu > System Preferences. Click Family Sharing. Click Add Family Member, then follow the onscreen instructions. If you're using macOS Mojave or earlier: Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click iCloud. Click Manage Family. Click the add family member button (+), then follow the onscreen instructions. If your family member is with you, they can enter their Apple ID password on your device to accept the invitation. You can also send them an invitation, and they can accept from their device. If you have multiple Apple IDs in the iTunes Store and the App Store, you can invite each of your accounts to the group, so you can share purchases from your other Apple IDs with your family. See if your family member accepted the invitation After you send the invitation, you can check its status under the person's name. On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Go to Settings > [your name] > Family Sharing. If you're using iOS 10.2 or earlier, go to Settings > iCloud > Family. On your Mac: Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Family Sharing. If you're using macOS Mojave or earlier, choose Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud, then click Manage Family. Then select that person's name to see the status of the invitation. If you need to resend the invitation, select Resend Invitation Join a family group Accept or decline an invitation to join a family directly from your device. You'll get an invitation sent to you by email or in a text message. Then you can respond right from the invitation. If you miss the email or text invitation, no problem. You can respond from your device Settings or System Preferences: On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Go to Settings > [your name] > Invitations. If you're using iOS 10.2 or earlier, go to Settings > iCloud > Invitations. On your Mac: Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Family Sharing. If you're using macOS Mojave or earlier, choose Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud, then click Manage Family. To accept an invitation, follow the onscreen instructions. When you join a family, you might be asked to confirm your account information and to opt-in to any features or services your family set up. If you can't accept the invitation, see if someone else joined a family with your Apple ID or is sharing purchased content from your Apple ID. Remember, you can only join one family at a time, and you can only switch to a different family group once per year. Start sharing After your family members join, the features of Family Sharing are set up on everyone’s devices. Here's what you can do: Download eligible music, movies, TV shows, books, and apps from the iTunes & App Store. Get an Apple Music family subscription, then invite family members to join. Share family photos and videos. Open the Photos app, tap the Albums tab, find Family in Shared Albums, and add what you want to share. Use the Family calendar. Open the Calendar app to add, view, or change events and reminders in the Family Calendar. Share an iCloud storage plan to give everyone enough space for their photos, videos, documents, and more. Find your family with the Find My app. Choose when to share your location with your family members. Help find family members' devices with the Find My app. Manage your child's account, turn on Ask to Buy, or use Screen Time with Family Sharing. Children under 13** must join a Family Sharing group to use Game Center. If you don't want to share the family photo album, calendar, or reminders, unsubscribe from them on your device, or on iCloud.com. Get help Get help if you don't see your family's shared content. To share purchased content, you need to turn on Share My Purchases and use the iTunes Store in the same country or region as your family members. Learn how purchases work with Family Sharing. Learn about Family Sharing. Family Sharing requires a personal Apple ID signed in to iCloud. If your family has purchase sharing turned on, music, movies, TV shows, and books can be downloaded on up to 10 devices per account, five of which can be computers. iOS 8 or OS X Yosemite or later are required to set up or join a Family Sharing group. Not all content is eligible to be shared. Content can be hidden by family members; hidden content is not available for download. Content downloaded from family members or acquired via redemption codes is not subject to Ask to Buy. Still Haven't Found Your Answer? How to use Apple Screen Time (Parents)
Turn on Screen Time Go to Settings > Screen Time. Tap Turn On Screen Time. Tap Continue. Select This is My [device] or This is My Child's [device]. You can now get a report about how you use your device, apps and websites, any time you want. If it's your child's device, you can set up Screen Time and create settings right on their device or you can use Family Sharing to configure your child’s device from your own device. After you set up your child’s device, you can also use Family Sharing to view reports and adjust settings right from your own device. With Screen Time you can also create a dedicated passcode to secure settings, so only you can extend time or make changes. Make sure to choose a passcode that's different from the passcode you use to unlock your device. To change or turn off the passcode on your child's device, go to Settings > Screen Time, and tap [your child's name]. Then tap Change Screen Time Passcode or Turn Off Screen Time Passcode, and authenticate the change with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. If you’ve forgotten your Screen Time passcode, update your device to the latest iOS or iPadOS then reset your passcode. If you can’t update your device, delete it and set it up as new to remove the passcode and choose a new one. Restoring your device from a backup won't remove your passcode. Set a Screen Time passcode Set a passcode so that only you can change Screen Time settings and allow more time when app limits expire. If you're a parent, use this feature to set up enforceable content and privacy limitations for your child. If you're using Family Sharing to manage a child account, follow these steps: Tap Settings > Screen Time. Scroll down and choose your child's name under Family. Tap Turn on Screen Time, then tap Continue. Set up Downtime, App Limits and Content & Privacy with all of the limitations that you want for your child, or tap Not Now. Tap Use Screen Time Passcode, then enter a passcode when prompted. Re-enter the passcode to confirm. Enter your Apple ID and password. This can be used to reset your Screen Time passcode if you forget it. If you're not using Family Sharing to manage a child account, follow these steps: Make sure that you're on the device used by the child. Tap Settings > Screen Time. Tap Turn on Screen Time, then tap Continue. Select This is My Child's [device]. View your report and set limits Screen Time gives you a detailed report about how your device is used, apps you've opened and websites you've visited, any time that you want to see it. Just go to Settings > Screen Time and tap See All Activity under the graph. From there, you can see your usage, set limits for your most used apps, and see how many times a device was picked up or received a notification. If you turned on Share Across Devices, you can view overall usage across devices that are signed in with your Apple ID and password. Here are the settings that you can manage: Downtime Think of this as a nap for your screen time. When you schedule downtime in Settings, only phone calls and apps that you choose to allow are available. Downtime applies to all of your Screen Time-enabled devices, and you get a reminder five minutes before it starts. App Limits You can set daily limits for app categories with App Limits. For example, you might want to see productivity apps while you're at work, but not social networking or games. App Limits refresh every day at midnight, and you can delete them any time. Communication Limits Control who your children can communicate with — throughout the day and during downtime. These limits apply to Phone, FaceTime, Messages and iCloud contacts. This is also where you can decide and manage which contacts are available on an Apple Watch paired through Family Setup. Communication to known emergency numbers identified by your iPhone or Apple Watch service provider is always allowed. You need to have your iCloud contacts enabled to use this feature. Always Allowed You might want to access certain apps, even if it's downtime or if you set the All Apps & Categories app limit. Phone, Messages, FaceTime and Maps are always allowed by default, but you can remove them if you want. Content & Privacy Restrictions You decide the type of content that appears on your device. Block inappropriate content, purchases and downloads, and set your privacy settings with Content & Privacy Restrictions. Use Screen Time with your family With Family Sharing, you can share music, films, apps and more with family — and it now works with Screen Time. You can view reports and adjust settings for children in your family any time, right from your device. If you're already in a family group, go to Settings > Screen Time, and tap your child's name. If you need to create an Apple ID for your child, go to Settings > [your name] > Family Sharing > Screen Time. Or if you're new to Family Sharing, tap Set up Screen Time for Family and follow the instructions to add a child and set up your family. You can add family members at any time from Family Sharing settings. To use Screen Time with Family Sharing, you need to be the family organiser or parent/guardian in your family group, on iOS 12 and later, or iPadOS. Your child must be under age 18, in your family group with their own Apple ID and on iOS 12 and later or iPadOS. Still Haven't Found Your Answer? This means that the calendar feed goes out from a Teamup Calendar to another calendar service, or to another Teamup Calendar. There are two basic steps: Obtain the iCalendar feed URL(s) from Teamup, and Configure the other calendar application to receive the feed(s). Important notes about iCalendar feeds Keep in mind that an iCalendar feed provides a one-way read-only synchronization. You can view the events on an iCalendar feed, but you cannot modify them. You need to use the web browser interface of Teamup to get the iCalendar feed URL. If you are using a Teamup mobile app, open the Teamup calendar using a web browser or mobile browser before proceeding. See this article for more information about security, sync frequency, and data range of outbound iCalendar feeds. Get the iCalendar feed URLs Open your Teamup calendar in a browser, then click the blue menu button in the top right corner of your calendar. Select Preferences > iCalendar Feeds. Go to the Menu > Preferences > iCalendar Feeds to get iCalendar feed URLs.A list of sub-calendars will open with an iCalendar feed URL for each one. At the bottom of the list is an iCalendar feed URL for all sub-calendars. Copy the URL you wish to use. Create a custom iCalendar feed If you wish to create an outbound iCalendar feed for a selected set of sub-calendars, you can do so. Create a read-only link to the selected sub-calendars. Access the calendar through this link. Go to Menu > Preferences > iCalendar Feeds as described above. Copy the iCalendar feed URL for “All sub-calendars” and proceed. If the iCalendar Feeds menu item is not active in your menu, then this feature has been disabled for your calendar. Ask the administrator of your calendar to enable it. Add iCalendar feeds to other calendar applications Each calendar application is a bit different. We do our best to keep this section updated with accurate instructions, but your experience may vary. To add the iCalendar feed from a Teamup calendar to another calendar service, paste the feed URL into the feed address field of the subscribing calendar service. For specific help, choose the appropriate section from the table of contents on the right. Apple iCal Subscribe 1. Open File, select New Calendar Subscription 2. Paste the URL you copied from your Teamup Calendar feed. Click Subscribe. 3. On the next screen, edit the name and other details, such as auto-refresh frequency. Click OK. See also instructions from Apple. To have iCloud push a Teamup Calendar feed to all your Apple devices, subscribe to it on your Mac (not on iPhone or iPad), and choose “iCloud” as the Location, as described here. To change the update frequency on Mac OS: Select the calendar in the sidebar and then choose Get Info from the Edit menu. If you selected a subscribed internet calendar, you will see an Auto-refresh popup menu. Select your desired refresh frequency from the Auto-refresh pop-up menu. Click OK to save your changes. Delete To remove a feed from iCal: Click Calendars on the top left. Your subscribed Teamup Calendar will appear under Other or iCloud. Select the calendar you want to delete From the menu, choose Edit > Delete. See also additional tips. Apple iPad / iPhone For iPhone users, in most cases tapping the Teamup iCalendar feed URL will launch the calendar application and the feed subscription dialog will appear. If that is not the case for you, follow these steps: On the Home screen, tap Settings. Tap Accounts & Passwords. Choose Add Account. Tap Other at the bottom of the screen. Tap Add Subscribed Calendar. Enter or paste the iCalendar feed URL from your Teamup Calendar in the field Server. Tap Next. If you want to enable reminders, turn on the Events Alerts (make the button green so that you can set up reminders).
