How do I create an Apple ID?
An Apple ID is the account you use to access Apple services like iCloud, the App Store, the iTunes Store, Apple Music and more. It includes the email address and password that you use to sign in, and all the contact, payment and security details that you'll use across Apple services. No matter where you create your Apple ID, just remember to use the same one to sign in to every Apple service. That way, you can access and manage everything with a single account and password. Create an Apple ID on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch When you set up on your new iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, you might be asked to enter your Apple ID and password. If you don't have an Apple ID, you can create a new one when you set up your device. You can also set it up later in the App Store. Create an Apple ID when you set up your device Tap Forgot password or don't have an Apple ID Tap Create a Free Apple ID Select your birthday and enter your name. Tap Next Tap Use your current email address, or tap Get a free iCloud email address Create an Apple ID using the App Store on your device Open the App Store and tap your profile picture Tap Create New Apple ID. If you don't see this option, make sure you're signed out of iCloud Enter your email and password, and choose the country or region that matches the billing address for your payment method. The email address you provide will be your new Apple ID* Read the Terms and Conditions and Apple Privacy Policy, then tap Agree to Terms and Conditions. Tap Next Enter your name and birthday, then tap to subscribe to Apple Updates if you'd like. This keeps you up to date on the latest news, software, products, and services from Apple. Tap Next Enter your credit card and billing information, then tap Next. You can also choose None, and learn what to do if None isn't showing or you can't select it. You will not be charged until you make a purchase. You can change or remove your payment details later Confirm your phone number. This can help to verify your identity and recover your account if needed. Tap Next Check your email for a verification email from Apple and follow the steps to verify your email address. Learn what to do if you need to set up email on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch After you verify your email address, you can use your Apple ID to sign in to the iTunes Store, App Store and other Apple services such as iCloud. Create an Apple ID on your computer On your Mac, you can create an Apple ID using the App Store. If you use a Windows PC, you can create an Apple ID using iTunes for Windows. If you don't have iTunes for Windows, you can create an Apple ID on the web. Create an Apple ID on your Mac Open the App Store Click Sign In, then click Create Apple ID. If you don't see this option, make sure you're signed out of iCloud Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions Complete the form to create your new Apple ID. The email address you provide will be your new Apple ID After you've filled in the form, click Continue. If you see a message that says that the email address you entered is already associated with an Apple ID, follow these instructions to use an existing Apple ID instead Enter your credit card and billing information, then click Continue. You can also choose None, and learn what to do if None isn't showing or you can't select it. We'll charge you only when you make a purchase. You can change or remove your payment details later Check your email for a verification email from Apple and follow the steps to verify your email address After you verify your email address, you can use your new Apple ID to sign in to the App Store and other Apple services such as iCloud. Create an Apple ID on another device To create an Apple ID on an Apple TV, Android device, smart TV or streaming device, you can usually follow the steps provided on screen and enter your full name, date of birth, an email address or phone number, and a payment method. You need to create an Apple ID when you subscribe to services like Apple Music and Apple TV+, or when you download the Apple TV app. If you set up the Apple TV app on your smart TV and need to create an Apple ID, you might be redirected to activate.apple.com. If you have trouble, try using the steps below to create your Apple ID on the web. Go to the Apple ID account page and click Create your Apple ID Enter your name, birthday, email and password, and choose the country or region that matches the billing address for your payment method. The email address you provide will be your new Apple ID* Select your security questions, and then tick the boxes to subscribe to Apple Updates if you'd like. This keeps you up to date on the latest news, software, products, and services from Apple Click Continue After you create your Apple ID on the web, you can upgrade to Apple's highest level of security, two-factor authentication, if you're eligible. How do I remove VPN? (For Students)
A virtual private network (VPN) gives you online privacy and anonymity by creating a private network from a public internet connection. VPNs mask your internet protocol (IP) address so your online actions are virtually untraceable. Most important, VPN services establish secure and encrypted connections to provide greater privacy than even a secured Wi-Fi hotspot. VPNs have a variety of uses, however, it has no place at the College. There is a strong wireless protection policy at the College. Furthermore, installing a VPN onto a school-managed device is a direct violation of the Corpus Christi College Acceptable ICT Use Procedure: "bypassing the systems that have been put in place by the College to protect students by using a Virtual Private Network (VPN), tunnelling or personal hotspot". (Paragraph 5, Section VI) Students found to be using a VPN lose access to college services. Removing the VPN 1. You may have noticed this background appear on your device. 2. How do I know if my iPad is Supervised?
To be able properly use your iPad at the college, a supervision profile must be installed on your device. To check if a profile has been installed on your iPad, please follow the steps outlined below and ensure that both steps are working. Check Self Service First, ensure that your iPad's self-service function is active. To do this, find Self Service on your iPad: If, upon opening, Self Service is not automatically directed to apps or if it displays a limited amount of Corpus Christi apps, please make your way to the ICT Helpdesk located in the library. Check Settings If the Self-Service app is functioning, check the iPad's settings. To do this, open settings on your iPad Look at the top left-hand corner of the screen and ensure that your iPad reads: 'this iPad is supervised and managed by Corpus Christi College' ..... . Apple Pencil Connectivity Issues
Before you begin Make sure that you have the Apple Pencil model that works with your iPad. You may need to charge your Apple Pencil before you can use it. Pair your Apple Pencil (2nd generation) with your iPad Attach your Apple Pencil to the magnetic connector on the side of your iPad, like this: Pair your Apple Pencil (1st generation) with your iPad Remove the cap and plug your Apple Pencil into the Lightning connector on your iPad. When you see the Pair button, tap it. After you pair your Apple Pencil, it will stay paired until you restart your iPad, turn on Airplane Mode or pair with another iPad. Just pair your Apple Pencil again when you're ready to use it. If your Apple Pencil won't pair with your iPad Make sure you centre your Apple Pencil (2nd generation) on the magnetic connector on the right-hand edge of the iPad. For an Apple Pencil (1st generation), remove the cap and plug your Apple Pencil into the Lightning connector on your iPad. Restart your iPad, then try to pair again. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure that Bluetooth is turned on. On the same screen, look under My Devices for your Apple Pencil. If you see it, tap . Then tap Forget this Device. Connect your Apple Pencil in to your iPad and tap the Pair button when it appears after a few seconds. If you don't see the Pair button, wait for one minute while your Apple Pencil charges. How to change your Apple ID email address (Student)
How to change your Apple ID email to a Corpus email address Go to appleid.apple.com and sign in. This must be done on a browser Verify your log in on a secondary device (that is connected to your Apple ID) 3. In the Account section, choose Edit. 4. Choose Change Apple ID. 5. Enter the email address that you want to use (jsmith1@student.corpus.wa.edu.au) 6. Choose Continue. 7. If you've changed your Apple ID to a third-party email address, check your email for a verification code, then enter the code. Find out what to do if you didn't receive the email. 8. If you use services like iCloud or Messages to share things with friends and colleagues, sign in to those services with your updated Apple ID. How to change your Apple ID email to a personal email address Go to appleid.apple.com and sign in - must be done on a browser. Verify your log in on a secondary device (that is connected to your Apple ID) 3. In the Account section, choose Edit. 4. Choose Change Apple ID 5. Enter the email address that you want to use ( e.g johnsmith@gmail.com) 6. Choose Continue. 7. If you've changed your Apple ID to a third-party email address, check your email for a verification code, then enter the code. Find out what to do if you didn't receive the email. 8. If you use services like iCloud or Messages to share things with friends and colleagues, sign in to those services with your updated Apple ID. If you can't change your Apple ID If you try to change your Apple ID to an @icloud.com email address that has been created within the last 30 days, you will be asked to try again later. If you see a message stating that the email address that you want to use isn't available or is already in use, check that you or a family member isn't already using that email address with a different Apple ID. If a family member is using that email address, remove it from their account and then try to use it again. In some countries or regions, you can use your phone number as your Apple ID. How to Change your Apple ID email for Students (iOS)
If your Apple ID email address ends in @student.cewa.edu.au, you may have received an email from Apple Support similar to the one below: To resolve this, you will need to change your Apple ID email address to end in @student.corpus.wa.edu.au instead or change it to a personal address. Follow the instructions below to change your email address on an iOS device. How to change your Apple ID email to a Corpus email address (iOS) 1. Go to Settings and click on your name at the top of the bar. 2. Click on Names, Phone Numbers and Email Addresses and tap Edit and Add Email or Phone Number 3. Click Add Email Address and input your username followed by @student.corpus.wa.edu.au (i.e jsmith@student.corpus.wa.edu.au) 4. After adding the email address, Apple will send an email to your student email inbox. Verify the email address by typing in the code sent when prompted. 5. Next, remove the email address ending in @student.cewa.edu.au from the list. 6. A prompt asking you to choose your new Apple ID email address will appear. Click Continue and type in your username followed by @student.corpus.wa.edu.au (i.e jsmith1@student.corpus.wa.edu.au) 7. Verify the email address again by checking your student mailbox and typing in the Verification Code sent. 8. Click on Yes when Apple asks whether you would like to 'Use Email for iMessage and App Store' How to change your Apple ID email to a Personal email address (iOS) 1. Go to Settings and click on your name at the top of the bar. 2. Click on Names, Phone Numbers and Email Addresses and click on Edit then Add Email or Phone Number 3. Click Add Email Address and input your desired email address. 4. Verify your email address by following the instructions sent to the email address inputted. 5. How can I find my AirPods using Find My?
1. Log in to your Find My app using your Apple ID 2. At the bottom of your screen in the Devices tab click on your AirPods 3. When you click on AirPods it will show you on your map where they were last located, as well as the time last used and gives you the ability to play sound from the AirPods to make them easier to find. How to: Collaborate on Keynote
This article provides instructions for how to collaborate on Keynote and provides solutions to common errors. Before proceeding with the FAQ - please ensure that all members you wish to collaborate with have adequate iCloud Storage. To check iCloud storage please go to settings > YOUR NAME > iCloud if you do not have adequate storage, please go to manage storage and clear your iCloud Drive. Notes for the Keynote Owner: If you are sharing via a link - please ensure that it is editable by anyone with the link rather than invited people How to Collaborate When you receive a link to a shared presentation, what happens when you click the link depends on the access and permission set by the owner, the version of Keynote and macOS installed on your computer, and whether you’re using iCloud Drive. Before you begin, make sure you meet the minimum system requirements for collaborating. Click the link in the message you received. If asked, sign in with your Apple ID or follow any instructions that appear. If the email address or phone number used to invite you isn’t associated with your Apple ID, follow the instructions that appear to add that email or phone number to your Apple ID. Note: If you don’t want to associate another email address with your Apple ID, you could instead ask the owner of the shared presentation to invite you again using an email address or phone number that’s already associated with your Apple ID. The presentation opens based on the following factors: On a Mac: The presentation opens in Keynote for Mac if you clicked the link in an app like Mail on your Mac, you’ve set up and signed in to iCloud Drive on your Mac, and you have macOS Monterey 12 or later and Keynote 12.2 or later on your computer. If you don’t meet those requirements, or if you click the link on a web page, the presentation may open in Keynote for iCloud. On iCloud.com on a Mac or Windows computer: If you’re signed in to iCloud.com in a web browser, the presentation opens in Keynote for iCloud and it’s added to the presentation manager and to iCloud Drive. On an iPhone with iOS 15 or later: If Keynote 12.2 or later is installed on your iPhone, the presentation opens in Keynote and is added to the presentation manager. On an iPad with iPadOS 15 or later: If Keynote 12.2 or later is installed on your iPad, the presentation opens in Keynote and is added to the presentation manager. If you don’t have Keynote installed on your iPad, the presentation opens in Keynote for iCloud in a web browser. On an Android device, or a device without iOS 15, iPadOS 15 or later and Keynote 12.2 or later: The presentation opens in a browser where you can view but not edit it. Collaborate on a shared presentation Open the shared presentation. If you previously opened the presentation, look for it in the Keynote folder of iCloud Drive. If you don’t see the presentation, click the link in the invitation you received, and if asked, sign in with your Apple ID. If you can’t open the presentation, see Accept an invitation to collaborate. Edit the presentation. Edits you and others make to the presentation appear in real time. Cursors and selections of text and objects appear in different colours to indicate where others are currently editing. Move your pointer over a cursor to see who’s making the edit.
